I've decided to change the title of this blog from The Commonplace Book to The Orderly Book, in order to narrow its focus. A commonplace book is a scrapbook of sorts, where learned people kept passages they copied from other texts. An orderly book is a journal kept by the staff of a general, a regiment, or company and used to record orders received. Since the focus of the blog is mostly on topics related to the War of 1812 as well as Ohio and world history, I've changed the title to something more concise.
