A Narrative of the Battle of Brownstown

It's been quite a while since I've posted, mostly for lack of activity on either my book project or reenacting over the winter. However, I'm keen to revamp the design of the blog and post some new and interesting content. Now that the War of 1812 Bicentennial is over, I feel more free to address whatever stories or topics from the period strike my fancy, as opposed to trying to commemorate certain events-- not that I ever felt constrained in that manner.

This is an interesting primary account of the skirmishes and battles which took place around Detroit in the summer of 1812, and which led up to the surrender of Detroit and the Michigan Territory by General William Hull. I'll post some of the highlights this coming week, but in the meantime check it out on Archive.org. And be sure to tell them what you think, good or bad, about their site redesign!
